Anyone going to be watching this? It's on tonight on BBC2 at 8.30.
I got the book the other day, looks like some nice recipes. The sweet potato mac and cheese is very popular with her Twitter followers.

I will watch it, I can normally get a few ideas from her shows as well as a couple of recipes
I'm not going to buy the book though....someone will put the recipes online at some point.0 -
I love the Nigella shows - and nicked lots of her 'Express' ideas!
I love the fact she isn't snobbish about the ingredients. you don't HAVE to make your own pasta from scratch, tinned pears work just fine and its ok to use plastic lemon and lime juice!0 -
I like how she cuts things like spring onions, bacon etc with scissors rather than chop with a knife..some may think it's unhygenic but I'm happy to follow suit
She also uses freezer shortcuts which I always find useful, I saw her freeze crumble mix to use as and when you need it and I've done that ever since...its those little things that make me want to watch0 -
I expect the recipes featured on the show will be on the BBC site, and some of the others might go up on her site.
I agree Meri, as she says, she's a cook, not a chef.0 -
i'll get the tissues at the ready.0

my aunt was a professional cook - worked for private families and later for 'institutions' such as Hospitals. she was a stickler for good home cooking and left her last job because they 'bought in readymade food'. she found it galling that all they did was warm up pies and make soup from mixes! BUT - like nigella if a tinned item or a carton of juice 'worked' in a recipe - she would use it. I learned a lot from her - except how to make her delicious gravy...........she never did teach me that!0

I enjoyed it but I watch mainly for entertainment. I do get a few ideas along the way though. I fancied the cauliflower and chickpea salad.
Anyone seen lamb ribs for sale in a SM?0 -

If you live in a town with a Turkish shop you can buy pomegranates very cheaply. A large pomegranate will give enough seeds to garnish 2 or 3 large family salads, you don't have to use loads!
I don't know about Chelsea but there are loads of places to buy pomegranates in Lewisham, not exactly a bastion of trendiness!
I have seen pomegranate seeds in packets in all major supermarkets, too, but they are rather uneconomical in that form, a handful of seeds for over a quid. And not as fresh as coming directly from the fruit. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
