neighbours stealing potential buyers..

My mum is selling her house and the neighbours who are also selling their house keep blatantly stealing her viewers. This has happened 3 times. Surely it must be illegal? Please help! Does anyone know the actual legal term for this? thank you so much everyone. xxx

My latin is a bit rusty but I think the term is "cheekius b*stardus"

Of course it's not illegal. Your mum needs to make her house more attractive than her neighbours' house.

Either in terms of looks, space, price, whatever.

    best wishes

#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided

#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now

dolce vita is correct, the neighbours are doing nothing illegal.

There is nothing stopping your mum doing the same with their viewers ...
    Gone ... or have I?

It's a free market viewers can view whatever they want - Your mums house needs to be more attractive than her neighbours (price, upkeep etc)

Edit: Nothing wrong with her stealing her neighbours viewers though

make sure your mum prevents anyone who has viewed next door from viewing her house. They'll soon learn

Fair and square competition! (albeit rather cheeky)

Just make sure your mum's house is SO much nicer than the neighbours one, and much better value for money! (obviously telling the viewers what lovely neighbours you have...)

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

how are they "stealing" your mum's viewers?

surely if i was looking at a property & next door's was also on the market, I'd view both as well, does that not make sense?

    illegal! lol

Yes, cutting one's nose of to spite one's face is a wonderful idea!

If your Mum lives next door to these people, she must know something about their comings and goings. Can she arrange viewings when she knows that they will be out, say at work? If their viewings are coming at a particular time, can she be sitting in a lovely garden and say hello on the way in?

Also, I'd get a copy of their particulars, and possibly send someone in to "mystery shop" their house. I'd then get that person to do the same to my house and make a list of all the points where my house is better. So that if they do go next door, your Mum can say "you'll notice that we've recently decorated the hall" or "we're lucky, we have the biggest garden in the street", etc...

I used to live in a small development of about 40 houses. There was one way in and one way out. When I came to sell there were two others up at the same time so rather than waste money on an EA I got a sign printed up and did it myself. I knew that people coming to see the others would have to see mine was for sale too.
Not stealing just saving money ;-)

Could you just explain how mum knows that the neighbours are "stealing" her viewers, please?
