Caught speeding :-(!!!

Hi all,


Just looking for some advice-


I got caught speeding in the company van 68 in a 60 well infact its a 50 cause its over two ton!
(only driven small vans before).




the day it was done was 01/10/15, im not sure when my company received the notice but I only received mine on the 27/10/15.


Am I covered by the 14day?

No, the 14 days only applies to the registered keeper.

Which is also too high for a Speed Awareness Course, so it will be £100 & 3pts.

Your company should really have a sticker on the dash to remind you about speed limits for vans, like many hire firms do...so many drivers don't know the rules (no defence though).

Worth checking the van is actually subject to the lower limits - the rules on that are quite complex and they don't always get it right.

The OP says it's over 2 tonnes, so there's no possible get-out.

I got caught speed 100mph in a 70mph zone,
I went to court and got a fine of £600 and 6 points,
I really did not want a BAN of any kind so i'm happy and will move on with life, ps those 6 points now take me to 9 . . . . .

Let's hope you soon get the other three, so you'll get an automatic ban.

You shouldn't be on the road.
