car insurance and registered keeper

If my sister is the registered keeper of a car and I insure it (we have different surnames, both married and live at different addresses) can I still tax it? I wondered if the post office would query the fact the keeper name is different from the insurance.

Never had problems getting tax, I have the insurance, car is in OH's name (different surnames) - They are only interested in the fact that the car is insured & has current MOT - don't care who pays as long as they get the money
Insurance companies always query our arrangement but as we are 'partners' it is ok - I trust your insurance company knows she is reg. keeper?0
