    Good morning everyone

It's a beautiful and bright morning here today. I got up with hubby to see him off to work and the girls are flitting about getting ready for school after a lovely week off.

My friend is coming to see me this morning, I haven't seen her for about a month so we will have lots to catch up on. I want to attempt to go to town today as well as it's my lovely hubby's birthday tomorrow and I still haven't bought him his steak for dinner. I think if I have my friend with me it will be a bit easier to get out of the house, wish me luck!

I was sorry to hear your news about your friends nmlc, even if it was expected it is still a shock.
Good luck with your dry November Gers, I'm sure you will feel the benefit quickly.
Oh Judi, your daughter and partner sound so lovely, thank God they are there to help Soldier's family, I can't think of anything more devastating than a big fire like that.

Well, I'm going to get showered and dressed and get ready for my visitor. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

NMLC what a shock it is when someone passes even if its expected my condolences to you and family
Judi; Hope the girls will be able to give Soldiers family some help.
Gers ,well done on a dry month keep it up honey.

The weather here in the southeast is damp grey very foggy and quite horrible at the moment. Can't see the bottom of the garden, but I shan't be deterred I am off on my Monday Medway walk today.our local council have these running from various spots around the borough. My goes from my local library and its about 45 minutes followed by a hot drink and a biscuit in the library afterwards to warm you up.Costs nothing and after 10 walks you get a small back pack and after a few more a water bottle and then a few more and a pedometer. Its a great way to have a stroll and a natter to other people who maybe wouldn't bother and it gets you motivated on a damp monday morning in November to get out in the fresh air.I shall wrap up warm, and wear my beanie hat to keep my head warm and some gloves..I met a lovely lady last week who was chatting about ancient Rome .Often you get to meet some odd characters, but always interesting to find out about other peoples likes and dislikes
Then after my cuppa and biscuit I shall pop round to Dds to let the dogs out for a constitutional then back home for lunch.I have some bendy carrots that need making into carrot and coriander soup

Knitting this afternoon as I want to do a bit more of DGS Henry's blankey then back to Dds at 3.30 to make the boys a snack when they come in from school.

Home by 6.30 but no cooking to do tonight apart from making some gravy as I had a meal made up from some left overs from last nights dinner by Dd which I brought home.

I saw on the news that its been the warmest day in November since 1946, I do hope its not a warning of how bad the winter is going to be as I can remember the winter of 46/7 and it was awful with thick snow everywhere.
Hope you all have a good day whatever you are doing
    Cheers chums

  • JACKIE I don't exactly remember the winter snow of 46/47 but my Christening had to be cancelled because of it!!! Family and friends all snowed in and no chance of anybody getting to the church! My Christening was postponed until the thaw!

JUDI I stopped using the crystals a few years back when I read that salt works just as well. So now I leave bowls of salt all over the caravan as it's much cheaper than buying the moisture crystals. It's amazing just how much water there is in the bowls come Spring.

Still waiting for the fog to lift here though I can see further than I could. The forecast says the sun will be out by 10.00!!

GERS I'm impressed by your willpower. Good luck!

Once again have a good day all xx

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Still in bed. OH arrived home by car just before 5pm. Had his supper.. Watched Downton and then a sloosh, to get the hospital smell off and bed. He is still asleep, will leave him till about 9 and then wake him.

It's quite foggy, hope it burns off, have a load of bed linen in the washer. When I knew O H was coming home, I changed the bed, decided to nip inro town and get a new duvet, the one we had on was very old and a bit manky, new one much better.

DS2 coming over today to do a couple of jobs and, I hope, tell me about his new lady friend!! Hope she is not as flaky or money grabbing as his others. His son is 16 at the end of this month, so he will no longer be paying for him.

Morning everyone, up later today as had bad night and have woken up with a head cold.

Very foggy here today, yesterday was lovely once it had burnt away, the sun really warmed the house and I managed to get a lot of windows open to change the air and freshen up. If it wasn't for leaves everywhere would have felt like a Spring day.
Am expecting the plumber to turn up any minute to look at our toilet cistern, think the valve has gone but being a rental property their maintenance people are responsible, our boiler is also on way out and that's the next job to be done, reassuring to know we don't have to find the pennies.
Nmlc - condolences on your losses
Judi- the fire sounds scary for your friends
Gers - good for you, have been thinking of doing a detox day once a week as have been feeling very sluggish lately.
Hope everyone has a good day, strength to those with much on their plates x

JUDI so sorry to hear of the fire, but what a relief no one was hurt. Where will the family live whilst it is being sorted, will they have to stay in the house? The girls are kind to help because they must be so busy with the children

    Candlelightx

The girls say that they are staying in the house as there is one room that is habitable. All 11 of them are sleeping in that room. The smell must be pretty awful...but probably not as bad as when Soldiers Mom died...jeez that must have been vile.

And now my big dog has started to drool, which means she feels sick so has clearly picked up something on her morning walk, poor thing.
Guess now have to find energy to keep floors mopped, the door will have to be open even though much colder today, still guess I wanted the house fresh!
  • Good Morning everyone, very foggy here overnight and the Fog Horns on the river were going off all through the night. It has cleared a bit but we're still misty and cold and very damp. Nice to be back home, washing done yesterday is now dry and will be ironed later this afternoon, beds changed this morning, house clean and tidy and a nice big crumble in the oven for puds for the rest of the week.

He Who Knows has just given me a small taste of his latest batch of cider which is very light and crisp and not sweet but not too dry, it will go well with fish so I'm going to make us a fish pie later this week and use some of the cider in a light cheese sauce to go in it, will be yummy! Today I'm making some stewed steak for supper and I also defrosted a gammon knuckle overnight to make a big batch of lentil soup and then have some cooked ham for a quiche and some potted ham for sandwiches, it's a good cut is a knuckle and for £2.99p will provide us with quite a few meals.

Have yourselves a nice day and I hope you get sunshine and not this dreary dullness, Lyn xxx.

Glad that your dd is trying to help them after the fire and that no one was hurt.

    nmlc

I am so sorry about your losses even if you knew they were in poor health it is still a shock.

It is dull and misty here so might need to dry the laundry inside.

DD has e mailed me to say she will be round to take me shopping tonight so will do some cooking so there is a home cooked meal for her. Might do chicken and veg soup and then slice gammon steak thinly with peppers, onions and passata to make a noodle or cous cous dish.

Spoke to estate agent who is going to try a bit of negotiation with the offer and contact me later. It does look as if they have a solid offer for their house which is something.

    Csarina

I am so glad you have your DH home.

    Hugs to everyone.
