"Telecommunications Supplier"

Hey guys,
On my mums credit report it has flagged up with a default for around £800. The lender is listed as "Sigma Red" which is a debt collecting agency and the type of debt is listed as Telecommunications Supplier. I have no idea what this could be and I trying to refrain from engaging with Sigma Red in case that just kicks of more problems.
How can I find out what this debt is related to?
Many thanks

Probably an old Vodafone account. I'd ignore it.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Score isnt seen by lenders so forget that, why is flagged on both yours and your mums credit files ?
Is there a date for the entry.0 -
Sorry guys. Just to correct, it's on my mums credit file only. The problem and issue is we have no idea what this debt is related to.0

mobile phone billDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

It will only mess up your score if you and your mum are financially associated.
Does your mum not know what it might be? It is obviously telephone/broadband related. Just think back very carefully. I assume the default date is shown? Check bank records etc from around that time. Is there something that was being paid every month and then suddenly and inexplicably stopped being paid. Is there no correspondence anywhere?
Assuming that after this you remain absolutely certain that it is nothing to do with her then she should call Sigma Red and ask them what it is about. It is possible that this account is indeed nothing to do with her, If this default shows only the name of a debt collection agency, does the credit report not contain any details of the original account that it refers to. An account cannot be defaulted twice.
If you do have some idea what it might be and considering that neither Sigma Red nor anybody else appears to be chasing or communicating with her about it you may be better off ignoring it and waiting for it to drop off after 6 years. Or you could pay it .... but that would not result in its removal from the credit file,0
