Free personal finance/budgeting software

I hope this is the right section (rather than techie).
I'm looking for recommendations for the best (free preferably) personal finance/budgeting software just now. I'd rather a software I can install on my PC, than an online thing, though I can do online if it's good. Easy to use is a bonus. And not linking into my bank account like I believe some do, I don't think I trust that. Just something to tally-up incomes and outgoings, so I can keep better track of what I'm spending/saving.
Excel may be the trick here, but I'm very novice to say the least. A programme that automates things is desirable.

I use GnuCash. It perhaps isn't the prettiest looking tool, but it is functional, open source and in active development.0

Microsoft money is free, I still use that despite being an old versionRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

I use Ace money Lite Brilliant. If you use windows 10 it is virtually impossible to get Microsoft money to run , not tried Gnu.0

I use the full version of Ace Money and find it very useful.
The only difference between the full version of the Lite version is that the Lite version only allows two accounts to be set up, whereas the full version allows unlimited accounts.

I've bookmarked GnuCash and Ace Money, I shall look at them properly tomorrow.
It is Windows 10 I'm using.
Thanks for the suggestions so far.0 -

Well MS Money works absolutely fine on my Windows 10 system, as it did on XP, 7, 8, and 8.1, so I think it's you or your system rather than Windows that is at fault.0 -
I too have had absolutely no problems running MS money from day 1 on Windows 10. I'd try that before looking elsewhere.0

I'll look at MS Money too then, if it works on Windows 10.0
