Is This Blade Suitable for Laminate?

Hi
I went into the DIY shop, and asked for a blade to cut laminate with.
It says on the back that it's suitable for soft wood, chipboard, plywood etc, but does not mention laminate. It's a 'clean cut' blade.
Any ideas if it will be ok with laminate?
Thanks

What type of laminate?
Kitchen worktop laminate? Laminate flooring? Some other laminate?0 -
Sorry, it's a PTX jigsaw blade 'clean cut' by B&Q. It's for flooring laminate.
Thanks

The ideal saw blade for cutting laminate is a "triple chip". Can't see any Blade OP.
edit: I wouldn't use a jigsaw but if thats what you have then just go for a downcut blade then any tear out will be on the underside.. As long as it cuts on the downward stroke it will be fine, more common to get blades that cut on the "upward" stroke in places like B&Q etc.
Google downcut jigsaw blades if you have any problems. If I remember correctly there are 3 different types of ends (bit that goes into the jigsaw) so make sure you get the right ones for your jigsaw.0 -
Thanks Leveller. I am afraid I am stuck with the jigsaw. How can you can tell if its a downcut blade.
My blade says nothing about 'triple chip.' Do you reckon I should take it back?
Thanks

Hi PP,
The blade you posted , if you look at the teeth they cut on the upwards stroke ... You need one tht cuts on the downward stroke, the teeth point downwards whereas an upcut blade the teeth point upwards towards the fitting end of the blade..My blade says nothing about 'triple chip.' Do you reckon I should take it back?
You need downcut blades like these. You may be able to source them elsewhere cheaper but you can see what they look like Having said that B&Q are charging very high prices for a pack of 2 you should easily get a pack of 5 for less. You may well need more than 2 blades anyway so a pack of 5 would be better.

That's an up cut blade, on a down cut the teeth will be the other way up.
If you can cut with the laminate face side down, it will have the same effect as an up cut blade.0 -
Interesting Big Bopper, and Leveller.
However, do you reckon I should take my blades back (don't even mention laminate on packet.) Or, use Big Boppers method of cutting in reverse?
Thanks
