Re-newing Car Insurance

Just wanted to share just how easy it was to cut my insurance renewal quote in less than 3 minutes for those people like me that might be a bit afraid to haggle.
I called existing provider to ask what my renewal quote was - advised £381 and asked if I wanted to renew now. I advised that I was in the process of using some comparison sites so wouldn't be accepting at this stage until I'd shopped around a little more. I was asked the average quotes I was receiving - I advised £260 - I was then immediately offered to renew at £316 if I was willing to accept that day! That was a saving of £65 without even trying and took about 3 minutes. I said I would carry on my search which I did.
Through comparison sites I found a comprehensive policy which included legal, at home breakdown, windscreen and low excess, all for £260. I then used TopCashBack and purchased it through this where it said I could get up to £57 off (it doesn't yet show on my TCB account how much that will be but apparently you have to wait a few days).
I used the guidelines on this site which really helped - although it does take time to go through the comparison sites it has resulted in an overall saving £120 and maybe a bit more with cashback.

Time on comparison sites is often (but not always) time well spent.IITYYHTBMAD0
