"not all sellers trust those with private feedback and so sellers may not sell to them, causing more hassle for the buyer. Or the seller may take extra precautions such as sending an item tracked and if buyer isn't in and expected standard post it can, again, cause issues."

So its the sellers worry then.

Buyer feedback is pointless. Ebay (apart from the odd Ebay clone) is the only selling platform anywhere that a seller rates a buyer. The only reason they have kept it is because some buyers like it and enjoy getting feedback so it's an incentive for them to buy.
Anyone who thinks it's a guide for sellers is misguided.

Which in turn means good buyers with private feedback have worries that they may not get the items they want or they may have more hassle.

The sellers will probably worry more as they don't know whether the buyer is good or bad, whereas the buyer knows themselves obviously, but what the seller does (or doesn't do) affects the buyer.

Tbf if a seller has wants to block me an lose a sale because he cant see all my glowing feedback thats their problem not mine.

Everywhere else i buy, doesnt only allow me to purchase because i have any sort of glowing feedback from other sellers,so i see no need for sellers on ebay.

As has been said any buyers that dont pay ect need an NPB opening up on them not a false positive to add to their score.

Personally I'd rather buy what I want, from who I want and have no issues. Half of what I buy is far cheaper than I'd have to pay otherwise though so I'd rather save a lot of money. I'd be losing out far more than the seller is by them blocking me over private feedback.

Some people know my username, but they don't ever look at what I've bought because they've no need to. My feedback doesn't show everything that has been bought anyway. I don't know why others would look, but all it should take is telling them not to (especially at Christmas/near their birthday) and really the other person should be able to control themselves and not look.

True, but as it's not that way on ebay it does make a difference. It would be better if they changed the system because many sellers don't know to open a case or don't know not to leave false positive. Until it changes though a lot of sellers will continue to care about buyers feedback.

To be fair for the most part, most of what i buy there are plenty of sellers doing the same so if i have to pay a little more thats fine with me.
As for others not looking, you might be a good boy[no insult intended] but there are many than cant help themselves :) [especially my girls]

I seem to recall a seller on Ebay who had a user name that was something like "sweet old lady" who was a man. He claimed it nighty out the best in people, I've known some who tells forums with a similar name.
It's odd what the mind conjurs up from just a name.
