Good afternoon chums, baking done this morning and only a bit of ironing to catch up with.
New month starts and no doubt will whizz by as did October.DD has arrived home safely from her USA visit, I was a bit worried when I saw the thick fog this morning so I'm pleased she back safe and sound.
Still very dark and gloomy and foggy outside. This afternoon will be ironing, knitting then off to youngest DDs around five for dinner.Done all of this weeks menu's and really don't need to go shopping to buy anything at all as most of its either in stock or the freezer So food purse will be firmly closed this week.I had £16.25 left over to go into the holiday fund at the end of October which I was pleased about. It all helps to boost the holiday food funds:):):)
<<Hugs to those in need >> H/H I hope your poor MIL gets sorted soon, its awful for both her and you and the family.
Take care everyone in the ffog

Hi all
We're back from visiting MIL, it was very foggy this morning so an unpleasant drive . MIL is now on liquid pain relief so thanks to the MSE'er who advised me, as it meant I was able to fight her corner.
Today she'd been left in wet sheets and with her pillows missing, so another fight to get that sorted.
Then, as if we didn't have enough on our plate I get an irate phone call from a neighbour of FIL, it seems he's told all the neighbours that we drive past his door & never offer him a lift to see MIL!
Well we drive past his motorway junction everytime we visit MIL, it adds an extra 45 minutes to our journey to pick him up and we offer every time & he refuses every bloody time, so I could do without her irate phone call!
We had breakfast at lunchtime when we got home & I've got the WM & DW going, I'll do a bit of tidying up and then some crochet.
Have a good afternoon everyone.

Afternoon all,
It is foggy here and has been all day. Such dull and dismal weather.
My daughter collected my Grandson at 11 and i went to see Mother. I was concerned that she was still in bed when i popped in to see her yesterday but she was dressed, out of bed and sleeping in her chair when i got there. It was good to see her wearing a pair of the trousers i bought her for her birthday. They fit her lovely.
Only problem is, she is badly staining many of her nice jumpers... being light they show all the stains. I'll get her some darker ones when i can. Seems such a shame to throw good jumpers away just because you cant get the stains out. Ive tried bringing some of the worst stained home to try and get the stains out but they are stuck fast. She was asleep when i got there, asleep when i left and wailing in between. Seems strange feeding your Mom her dinner.... its a thing i hope my children dont have to experience with me. She doesnt cope with lumps now. Everything has to be finely mashed or she spits it out and flings it. I had to go round picking up bits of chicken after she (and i) had given up. She ate her jelly and ice cream though.:D
Home now and i'm cooking for the men for work. Neither of them are eating properly as they are too knackered after work so ive worked out if i cook them a meal for Monday, they can eat out on Tuesday, i cook them a meal for Wednesday, then they only have to cook for themselves on Thursdays because they are home on Fridays.
So, shepherds pie has been prepared and cooked and i'm in the middle of doing a fish pie.
The men are in the garden. Its Youngests' cars' MOT in a few weeks and he's booked it in. Hubby recons the handbrake needs attention so its on the ramps being looked at.:(
Nothing else to add really,
onwards and forwards,

Could you dye the jumpers?
It has been a quiet day so far so I have been doing very little and trying to rest my neck as I must have pulled a muscle or something. Starting to feel better for the rest.
We have had an offer for the house but it is really low so don't think we will be accepting it. I got a load of sweets in for Halloween but did not have any callers so DD is going to take them in to work tomorrow. Older dd starts her new job tomorrow and will be away from home for a few days this week. She and SIL will pop in for a meal on Thursday evening which will be nice.
Hester
If they can't get a hospice can't they find a care or nursing home and pay for most of it? I would be sorely tempted to ring the neighbour offering FIL a lift and let her tell him the offer so he can be seen to refuse to visit his wife or be shamed into it. Your DH seems the best of the bunch and more.

I've got a date with James Bond this afternoon :j in Oban so will do a bit of shopping when up there.Fun and games yesterday morning – Cleo Chick decided to escape while Scampi was in the garden  I have no idea how I did it, because I'd been limping all morning, but I was out the door and had hold of his collar in a split second
He'd managed to grab a couple of feathers but that was all, Cleo was fine. I didn't know a chicken could move so fast, lol.
He's taken to the Halti quite well, we had a few short lessons through the day. I'll do the same today then will try a very short walk to the bus stop and back tomorrow.
That sounds hopeful with the Halti; maybe this will be the means to sort him out once and for all - I hope so.
Harriet managed another trundle as far as the local poo bin today - our instructions are to offer her the option of a ten-minute walk each day, but not force her if she doesn't want to go, just let her use the garden as and when she needs to. So far she's been accepting the offer of the walk.:T
I also managed to groom her from top to tail this afternoon; she seems to regard it as just another means of getting a cuddle, so that's really good.:o She's here til Monday 9th November.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Could you dye the jumpers?
Not sure, i think the bright orange stains are from her iron medication. Its worth a try i suppose. I'm going to end up chucking them anyway so nothing lost if it doesnt work. Thanks for the idea.
I am thinking of something a little darker. Navy blue or dark grey. Anything that doesnt show the stains. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Evening all. This morning's fog had cleared by the time DS arrived and we were leaving for the site at 9.45. The drive there was with wall to wall blue sky and sunshine. It felt like a summer's day, so very warm, and the sweat was pouring out of us as we did battle with the awning and scrubbed all the muck and soil from the bottom. By 3.00 pm we were back in the car with the decking and picnic table covered and the caravan had it's winter coat on! We'd had a quick break for lunch and it felt lovely sitting in the sunshine, enjoying the peace and quiet and watching the birds, squirrels and rabbits darting about again. The site re-opens again in March and we are hoping we will be back to spending more time there next season. Fingers crossed that Mr TA's new treatment will help.
Just had tea and both feel weary ++ after our industrious day so I think it will be an early night for us. Just going up for a quick shower and hairwash to get rid of the day's grime. Then feet up for the Strictly result show.
Have a nice evening all xx HESTER things can only get better for you surely. Here's hoping tomorrow will be a better day."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Good evening everyone,
(((hugs))) to everyone, HH it is so sad that you are having to deal with so much family bickering at such a sad time - thinking of you.
Well it was so nice to sleep in my own bed last night, the first good night's sleep I've had this week.:D
Well I did think that we were going to see some sunshine this morning, but it didn't happen and has been really foggy all day. Our new car is lovely and DH and I went for a drive down to Whitstable. It was foggy down there but it was nice to have a look around and see the sea just!!!
I have made dinner we had cheese & lentil loaf with roast potatoes and veg, and apple & blackberry crumble.
Just going to chill out for the evening, have a good evening all x.SPC 11 #4450
