Conservatory Builder Recomendations

Hello, we are looking at having a conservatory built and would appreciate any recommendations for a builder to do the work. We're based in Tameside, Greater Manchester. Thank you

Yup. I wouldn't build a conservatory at all. Not worth it.

Yes I agree. I have one and love it but it is only usable between March and September.

How usable your conservatory will be will depend on which way it faces.

Best advice don't waste your money.
They're to hot in summer and to cold in winter.

OTOH, no one here knows what you want a conservatory for, or which way it will face, so the answers here may be premature.

I agree that conservatories aren't for everyone, and that standard designs are very prone to overheating, but for me they don't do the same job as an extension. Done that.

I have a conservatory and so has my builder. It's not an accident that both of us are replacing them......with another conservatory!

I used a company in your area 8 years ago for a conservatory and a couple of people we know have used them since.
They are on Duckinfield Rd if you want to do a search (not sure if I am allowed to post company names here) - the lady who sorted it out is still there as we got quotes recently for new upvc windows.
    Ask for Michelle.

At the time they had their own conservatory builders/fitters so were in control of the work - not sure if they still have own people or sub contract out but worth asking.

They had a decent showroom that enabled us to view all sorts of options to get the perfect conservatory for our needs - some of the options we needed to see for ourselves.

Good post. A lot of people think conservatories are rubbish - because most are. But I know people with conservatories that are great and in use year round.

Depends entirely on your house and what you want.
