Barclaycard PPI

Hi everyone -
I'm new to PPI claims and submitted a claim to Barclaycard for mis-sold PPI on 21 September which was successful. I received a letter on 20 October upholding my claim, agreeing it was mis-sold and how my refund was calculated - I received my cheque on 31 October. More than one person has suggested that the whole process has been unusually quick.
I had PPi on my Barclaycard from the date I opened the account in June 2000 to March 2003. Barclaycard admit that they do not have statements dating from June 2000-May 2001 so have had to estimate my refund for that period based on my transaction behaviour from the statements they do have. I have no statements dating back that far and have no idea what my spending habits were either.
Without looking a gift horse in the mouth I have 2 questions : without anything to back it up how can I be sure that Barclaycard have correctly calculated my refund? 2) Barclaycard did not explain why the PPI policy ended in March 2003 - are they obliged to?

Things have speeded up. However, it could be an auto-payout and those have always been quick.Barclaycard admit that they do not have statements dating from June 2000-May 2001 so have had to estimate my refund for that period based on my transaction behaviour from the statements they do have. That is consistent with what is known about Barclaycard. And the method they are using is in line with the regulatory requirements.without anything to back it up how can I be sure that Barclaycard have correctly calculated my refund?
you cant and it wont be. Barclaycard have already told you that they are estimating it.2) Barclaycard did not explain why the PPI policy ended in March 2003 - are they obliged to?

Have Barclaycard sent you details of how they have calculated your
PPI compensation ?
I ask this question as i understand the FOS are presently investigating
Barclays and in particular Barclaycard concerning the associated interest
calculations on credit card PPI redress.0
