Procrastibaking

Options
Definition of Procrastibaking

The art of avoiding all serious tasks by spending all of your time baking cakes, biscuits and other tasty treats.

I am guilty of this - much rather bake up a storm than do routine housework that needs doing :o

Why Hoover through or bottom out the bathroom when I can bake a batch of brownies. Not a conscious decision - but I often put off 'boring' tasks with the excuse that I NEED to bake

Apart from anything else, our waistlines are suffering.

Do any of you have subconscious avoidance strategies?

  • I rarely bake as I have a waistline problem. I read - lots.

It would be great if you could find someone who could do a bit of housework in return for some baking.:)

Oh goodness, sounds so much like me, but I'm more a procrasticooker. Rather muck about in the kitchen cooking than housework any day. :o Not much done in the way of baking, other than bread and pizza dough in the bread maker, and making pastry for pies and quiche.
So wish housework was as much fun. :(

Don,t get me wrong - the house is clean, but I need to really tell myself to hoover or iron for example, and the ironing pile just doesn't,t inspire me when just across the room is my baking drawer.

Today I am doing to be disciplined and ensure that the boring stuff is done - then I will allow myself a couple of hours of cooking and baking - I Could spend all day in the kitchen, radio on, up to my ears in eggs and sugar :)

  • Know exactly where you are coming from Islandmaid, exactly the same for me with housework, but cooking instead of baking. I do the housework first thing in the morning, get it over and done with, otherwise it would never get done, then I can enjoy the rest of the day. Just wish I had someone who loved ironing.
