Is plant growing on roof a problem?

I was looking at a house.
It is a 100 year old building, but has been refurbished on the inside.
On the tiled (maybe slate) roof, where it joins a vertical bit of brick at the edge of the building, a plant is growing. I forgot to take a picture. But it has a stem a couple of foot long with leaves growing out of the side of the stem.
Could this be a problem?
A very unclear image from google maps is here:

Quite possibly a buddleia which will grow anywhere. Should be easy enough to shift if it's still small. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
