Another day, another opportunity for PPC,s to make more money.
Probably, thousands of tickets will be ISSUED today around the UK.

The recent Beavis v Parking eye case ONLY highlighted one aspect of this low life industry but there are many more aspects you can reject the invoice given to you by these PPC's.

Many will have seen the BBC Watchdog reports and they are worth watching again.

    NOTE:
The BPA comments when asked how they are funded ? They are paid for by subscriptions from PPC's and therefore cannot be considered an independent body. Plus, they certainly do not keep track of their members unless certain things come to their attention. YOU WORK IT OUT

    The DVLA MAKES OVER £3MILLION
They sell your details to PPC's who the BPA say are ok, but, as shown, the BPA are flawed and are not fit to do this

Has anyone ever given the DVLA permission to sell your private information to these PPC's ....answer = NO

A few posts up, you will see my email to Sainsbury's and there response.
Today in response to my email, I received this email.
I think it is a bit of a copy and paste answer clearly not interested
in customers spending money with them.

    FROM SAINSBURY'S TODAY
Thank you for your email to Mike Coupe. I have been asked to respond to you on his behalf and I am concerned you have such a poor impression of us.

We aim to provide excellent car park facilities at our stores and try to ensure that all our customers can access a suitable space when they shop with us. To prevent misuse, we do work with third parties to monitor car parks on our behalf, issuing parking charge notices when necessary, and we will continue to work hard to ensure our car parks are monitored fairly.

I assure you we want all our customers to have a pleasant shopping experience and will keep doing our best to make sure our customers feel confident visiting us.

    Kind regards

    Dear Madam,

It is so sad that your email indicates that in reality you simply have
a "could not care less" attitude.

You have not remotely given confidence to myself or indeed countless
thousands of your potential customers any faith in Sainsbury's as you appear not to respect customers.

The simply fact is that you employ Parking donkeys to monitor
your car parks, how on earth can you say "pleasant shopping experience" when it is not, with thousands of shoppers falling foul
of the tactics of the Private Parking Companies every day.

Whilst you employ these companies, why should I spend money with you when just up the road there is Lidl and Waitrose whose car parks
have pay machines and with Waitrose, if I spend £10 or more, they deduct the car park fee.
By employing these Private Parking Companies, you are not living in the real world and who in their right mind would risk a £70 parking charge because we overstayed a few minutes due to delays at check out. This christmas, I expect to spend at least £500 in a supermarket but it will be in a supermarket that really does offer a "pleasant shopping experience". Sainsbury's does not.

Your email actually explains why your profits were down 18%
I suggest you pass this back to your CEO as clearly he does understand the severity of using Private Parking Companies

No doubt they will wonder why if their profits fall again

I think you demeaned your letter and looked a bit of a ranter when writing to the CEO's office and using the words "Parking donkey". And you didn't really nail why the PPCs are a bad infestation, such as ticketing disabled drivers without BBs, not giving grace periods, non compliant paperwork chasing RKs and non-compliant signs, never mind the sneaky practices they employ. I don't think the top execs really understand and you had a good opportunity to highlight the issues but missed it (so far that is).

One bit in your letter did cause me to take a deep breath.

You are on a Lidl parking problem thread and previously wrote on this thread
"I got a ticket from Athena in a Lidl car park in camberley, Surrey. It was 5 mins over the the 2 hr free time and that was due to the long wait at check out because of lack of staff ?
I wrote to the CEO of lidl who never replied, one those ignorant CEO's in the retail sector."

    I love consistency!
  • the secret is now out!!!

the difference between Sainsbury's and Lidl

    Appreciate your reply.
But as we all know, even the national press, they are donkeys, you see, human beings have a more logical approach.
I have no reason to highlight some of the points you make, everyone knows that anyway via these forums.

Of course the CEO's of the supermarkets know all about this, what they do not understand is how many sales they are losing

With regard to Lidl, that was the Camberley shop who employ the donkeys and in the end that ticket was cancelled. My reference to Lidl and Waitrose ARE in the area I live in
    Consistency IS SPOT ON

Let us define the word Donkey:- (Wikipedia)
    The donkey or !!!
Donkeys have a notorious reputation for stubbornness
Likely based on a stronger prey instinct and a weaker connection with man.
In their native arid and semi-arid climates, donkeys spend more than half of each day foraging and feeding, often on poor quality scrub
Ring any bells about PPC's ???

If you think I missed the opportunity to voice your opinions, then you now have the opportunity to voice your further thoughts directly to the CEO, DO LET US KNOW.

The problem with people in the UK is a lack of complaining, some of us do, most do not hence PPC's ride over most people and, dare I say, STEAL THEIR MONEY.
I guess you do realise that the amount of money they take each year, makes the Great Train Robbery in 1963 where they stole £2.6 million, childs play. Even in today's money that's over £50 million and I guess Ronnie Biggs would love to run a PPC today, in the governments eyes ... IT'S LEGAL ???

Sorry - may have conveyed the wrong message. I am 100% happy with what you have written as a forum post.

I am simply saying that if you want to make any points to a CEO or his office, you should come across as a calm sensible person and explain what the problem is, giving the CEO the opportunity to address your points, rather than weasel out - which is much easier to do when you don't nail the points and just generalise.

In fact, taking your last point, following recent posts on the Lidl threads, I have written to Lidl only yesterday on specific points on their free parking time for shoppers and others.

I will update if I get a reply.

Thank you, but I am a calm sensible person. Don't think for one moment that the CEO actually reads the letter/email, most of the CEO's cannot be bothered, love the big salary and bonuses and then pass it on to an employee to answer with cresh comments.

You will not get a reply from the CEO of Lidl, the guy is useless.
If you are lucky, , it might be picked up by somebody with no authority.
Just look at the big businesses, I mean Barclays Bank change their CEO without a blink, maybe showing in general how useless they are.

Nice letters do not work, you have TO hit them where it hurts and that also applies to Donkeys purporting to be Private Parking Companies.

OK, get your head around this from The Telegraph, ceo of Sainsbury's

Who cares, our only interest is the contempt he and Sainsbury's show to customers regarding the donkeys.
And of course all the other supermarkets who employ these PPC's to rip us off, can you now see why they are referred to as Donkeys

If you are wondering what this is all about .....

MSE was started by Martin Lewis, often seen on TV
The site really shot to fame when Martin exposed the rip off bank charges and boy oh boy it sent the banks into a frenzy, to a point that one guy took a bank to court, got judgement, the bank did not turn up and he sent the bailiffs in. So funny, bet NATWEST, Tilehurst, Reading got a bit of a shock that day.
This was happening around the UK and cost all banks £millions.

It was then that Banks and other companies like debt collectors started tuning in daily to MSE.

Then came the PPI scandal and again Martin Lewis led the way and it cost the banks more £millions, it's still going on.

Next were debt collectors which is on going and there is always brilliant advice on how to deal with this low life.

Right now we are all faced with Private Parking Companies, known as Parking cowboys or donkeys. Employed by the companies you spend money with to rip you off. This will be ongoing until the government understand that this scam is not accepted and they either close them down or regulate them.

MSE is the most powerful internet consumer site in the world, your words will be noticed and noted by all companies because, the banks, the debt collectors, the Private parking companies and any other wrong doer reads the site, probably daily, to see what's happening and especially to them, this is people power so let us hear your voice
