I've read elsewhere that the FCA find it illegal for them to charge that.0

Then again, you have experience of drafting/writing contracts and you've clearly carried out lots of research so I may be wrong. Did you find the answer to question 1 before you made your OP, or have you found the FCA 'finding' since starting the thread? Could you provide a link?...preferably not one from consumeractiongroup.
Haha yeah that's the one, CAG. Tried to find it elsewhere but no success so far.YorkshireBoy wrote: »Then again, you have experience of drafting/writing contracts and you've clearly carried out lots of research so I may be wrong. Thanks for the compliment but I don't want anybody to think I'm more experienced in contracts than I am, or I'd not have asked in the first place.
I'm starting to find that some people, not all, prefer to tear people with concerns apart, whether it's using their words against them or picking on information with little relevance rather than trying to help. Again, all I was asking was for someone with the experience in the situation to advise. I honestly hope that this post of mine doesn't get turned on me for the sole purpose of arguing or attempting to belittle me.
Regardless, I understand that those who have posted in this thread have done so out of their own free will, using their own time, and for that I am grateful. Thanks guys for taking time out to post in this thread. :money:0 -
Problem solved.
Hopefully this will assist those in future who, as a combined result of moving employment and having their savings drained, have had a DD to Harlands bounce.
Despite emailing the gym manager I decided to contact Harlands directly via telephone. I explained the situation and the lady was kind enough to cancel the fee as a goodwill gesture providing I paid the normal monthly payment via debit card.
So, that's the answer.0 -
Interesting. So what I suggested in post #8 and #17. Normally found that works if they get payment made.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
