Divorce/Inheritance

my solicitors bills came to around that - mainly due to the duplication of all correspondance every time he changed solicitors and the fact ex would not respond to any corresponance, raising writ to force house sale etc, although I did pay it quarterly so not all in a oner.
I had an inheritance during the marriage (not huge) and was advised by my solicitor if I kept it in my own account or bought something with it would be kept out the equation - I had bought a car so that was mine no argument (well not from the solicitor anyway - I had to uplift it with the help of the police!) so even if you were married in the same house and then separated in the future it would still be 'safe'
Would suggest if there are pensions, savings etc you get statements/values as of date of separation.
And as Scottish law dictates this is the key date, you have no claim on anything she has bought since separation such as the new property.0 -
Thanks again. I have an added complication in that i have been disabled (partially) and have not worked since 2001. I need to find out about a pension sharing order. Having a diability i was at home with the kids most of the time and did not have a pension but my wife had a company pension. How do i go about getting a pension sharing order sorted out?
