Good Morning all, another month has flown by again where does it go to.Today its 20 years since we had downsized and moved down into Kent to my little house.I can't believe where that time has vanished to either.
I have been retired 20 odd years now yet seem to be doing far more than I ever did at work:) There are few days where I just 'stand and stare' Every day seems to be rushing to catch-up on various things, certainly no time to get bored that's for sure, but then I have never, ever been bored in my life.
Today I am off down to the Hempstead Sava centre to buy some cards for one DGS birthday in a fortnight's time and DD's boss's who is 40 next week and my son-in-laws birthday at the end of the month.I am also hoping to get some sort of ideas for the forthcoming birthday in December as I have4 family birthdays and a 60th wedding anniversary to plan for..Hopefully I will get back for lunch and maybe catch a half hours rest before trotting off again as I promised I would get some stuff for a housebound neighbour who has MS. then around four I am off to youngest Dds for dinner tonight so at least I have no cooking to sort out today.but in between I want to make a Victoria sponge cake for DD and some Melting Moments biscuits for the DGS.If I have time a vat of carrot and coriander soup should be put on to cook as some of my carrots are looking decidedly past their best.
Eldest DD comes home from the US tomorrow and I must drop a couple of books into her house and make sure DGD Holly has cleaned up from decorating her bedroom before her Mum gets home .
Its not all beer and skittles being retired in my case its trying to fit everything into the time available .still nobody died being busy:):)
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are doing
I'm off to grab some breakfast to get me fuelled up for the foray today:):)
Cheers chums

Good Morning everyone, still with DD1 as we have tickets for the local rugby this afternoon and the stadium is being kept open after the match so we can all see the world cup final on the big screens there and that's for free, in fact anyone who had a ticket for any of the world cup matches at this stadium will get free entry to see the world cup final, the atmosphere should be amazing and the generosity of the club is very much appreciated.
We've been making a bat frieze for the window this morning and iced many cupcakes and stuck on top many marshmallow and bootlace spiders that I made yesterday for trick or treaters this evening, we'll be candle lit and DD has made wonderful carved pumpkins to go in the window, such fun and something I've always enjoyed, nice to give something to the kids in the community to enjoy.
We're going to rake leaves in the garden this morning and give Pushkin cat a nice time outside on his harness and the will go out for brunch and on to the rugby, hope you all have a good day and enjoy Halloween/Samhain celebrations if you enjoy them or are left in peace if you don't, Lyn xxx.0 -
Hello all, I seem to have achieved little so far today, other than some dusting and chatting with friend. And a pampering bath which really should have happened later in the day as Ia reward. And some washing but since the machine did the actual work can hardly take the credit for that. OH has shopped and put away. I am stuck on the Times crossword.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Good afternoon everyone.
Hugs to everyone. I have been reading along and wish to send my sympathies and thoughts to everyone who are poorly or who have relatives who are poorly or having a tough time.
I have been staying with my mum for a few days and have done some deep cleaning for her as she finds some jobs difficult now. We did go out a few times for lunch and tea. Typically now I am travelling home the weather is gorgeous!
I'm looking forward to seeing DH and children and sleeping in my own bed.
Also looking forward to strictly tonight.
Have a good evening all
Happy Halloween xxSPC 11 #4450 -
Afternoon - the weather forecast said it would be sunny between 1.00.m. and 4.00p.m. so I did a white towels wash and they are all on the line. Not sure that's it's 'sunny' but it's dry and a bit windy though I'm keeping my eyes peeled.
After my rush of blood to the head yesterday when I booked theatre tickets for next December I've now just booked myself a week long trip to Orkney in July. Where I live has got a huge number of Neolithic artefacts, standing stones, burial cists etc with direct links to Shetland so I'll be fascinated to see what riches Orkney has. :j
That's it for the day. Waiting now for my scary visitor. I've got a bag ready with an apple, marshmallow pumpkins, licorice skulls and a packet of apple crisps, along with a very large glittery spider and bat!0 -
Afternoon all,
Lovely Autumnal day today
Took DD to her friend's house to get ready for the Wedding this morning. It was very nice being out so early on a weekend. She had to be there for 7.30am.
Dropped Son-IL off at lunchtime as the Wedding is at a Country Hotel type place.
I got DD to send me a photo of the bride as being Halloween it has 'Gothic' theme to it. I know this evening they have extra dressing up bits and face paints - sounds like a lot of fun!
We were supposed to being going to get a few bits of shopping but really CBA! and so are sitting here and DH is watching the SAS programme on replay.
No idea what is for dinner.0 -
Afternoon all,
busy day for me... Well its my own fault really as i slept straight through till 10am. I slept through the dogs barking to go out so hubby had to get up. Ive just got no energy but i'm not sure its because ive been ill or whether its because ive not been taking my medication first thing on a morning before breakfast. It doesnt take much to throw my routine.
Went out for breakfast, just me, hubby and 'Youngest'. Shopping after and hubby is now flaked out on the settee fast asleep.
Ive got my Grandson overnight as Mummy and Daddy are going to a fancy dress party. He had his fancy dress party at nursery on Friday.
Popped in to give Mom some fruit on the way back from shopping. She was still in bed, wailing to herself. It was heartbreaking to leave her as i leant over the bed to kiss her she stroked my cheek gently. I felt guilty for not staying with her but i'd got a car full of food to put away and am still wading through a weeks worth of the mens bedding and dirty work clothes. I was told she can no longer feed herself or drink by herself now. She really is in a heartbreaking state. Her appetite is good apparently but she just cant do anything for herself. I honestly cant imagine her getting any worse. I'm going to try and get down to see her tomorrow. Failing that, Monday if ive got the energy.
Onwards and forwards,
have a good evening all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Samhain Blessings, one and all.
Mr LW has just opened our customary bottle of champagne; I have a black tea-light in my pumpkin-shaped tea-light holder, Harriet has had all her meds for the day and had her dins - and from the front of the bungalow, it looks as if we're out.;) Hoping for a peaceful and quiet evening.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
