Descaling radiators

Options
Hi All

I was wondering if anyone had descaled their own radiators?
(have done a search and can't find a thread so apologise if this has been covered before)

The facilities manager at work has said to me it is relatively easy, apparently there is a solution you can buy and you leave it in the system for a few days and then drain and flush the system. He has said it is easy to do, but i am a bit worried and wondered if anyone had done this themselves?

Thanks

Yes many times it is very easy to do. All the diy sheds sell Fernox or similar to descale your system.

This is left in the system for a few days and then flushed through but don't forget you need to add corrosion inhibitor when you refill the stystem.

These days you can even do a DIY powerflush if you think its necessary. You can hire the machine from most hire shops.

    Thanks for the info.
    Will look into it.

My system is very old and it might make it more efficient!
