Radio 4 Moneybox....... Energy Bills.
Do you listen to Moneybox of a Saturday lunchtime ?
I've just been reading the email i get to say what's going to be in tomorrows show, and they're doing a piece about changing suppliers. It will be of interest to anyone who gets the Warm Home Discount. Apparently some of the top suppliers don't offer this, so if you 'switch' it could cost you more.

Warm Home Discount
Are people being encouraged to switch their energy supplier without being warned they may lose a £140 discount off their electricity bill? Nearly half of the 37 energy suppliers do not offer the Warm Home Discount. And seven of them are in the top ten for cheap deals. Low income families and pensioners who have switched this year to one of the 17 who are not in the scheme may save less from switching than they have lost by missing the discount. This month’s Government switching campaign did not warn them specifically of this risk.

I just got turned down for Warm Home Discount broader group. Even though I applied early and qualify. It was to do with this year DWP vetting people normally so i got told the energy companies take random selection this year its changed and lots of people so i got told will have got turned down.
I just sent them evidence of receipt of qualifying criteria
I think MSE cheap energy club do warn of this but it can be easily missed0
