10 DG windows £5800

Options
Had a quote for 10 x double glazed windows, with one being a 3 piece bay window. No fanlights, and most windows will be split down the middle with each side opening. Leaded, white uPVC. The 3 piece bay window will have new board and the top finished in lead flashing.

Ive been quoted £5800 and told it will take 3 days, does this sound right? I'm in Hertfordshire

impossible to even think about it . Is it 8 frames inc the bay (10) or 10 frames inc a bay (12) what sort of sizes ? whats the fit like ? toughened anywhere ? Diamond or block leads or something a little fancy , 3 days for that type of number is about right depending on some factors . Price is subject to the same factors
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world

No sounds high as very basic rule of thumb £300 per widow fitted is a starter add subtract for different profiles, glass, opening, making good etc get other quotes several both nationals and small local firms and play them off against each other pain in the !!!! for sure but window companies are notorious for over charging at the start so they create a rod for there own back,,,,

I paid around £3k a few months ago for new windows with A rated glass. There were 5 windows in total & all, apart from the kitchen window, were larger than average & one window needed toughened glass. The company didn't require a deposit & I only paid once I was happy with the installation. I live in a suburb of London.

Before going ahead, I'd also had 2 quotes from other companies (one was double the cost!). I didn't just choose the company I went with purely on price, though they definitely were the most competitive, but as a friend had used them I knew how reliable they were. My windows were fitted over 2 days.

Do get other quotes & if any of your friends, neighbours etc have had new windows in the past couple of years then do ask if they'd recommend the company.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
