Domain Name Query ??

I wanted to buy a domain name but it was gone. I just typed in the name in the browser bar and it says its analysing the web address.


What does this mean? Could it be that someone has bought the domain name but just isn't using it?


Seems odd to me :-(

Yes, someone has purchased it but has not set up a website. They do have a mail server set up however.

It looks like ownership is up for renewal in March next year so perhaps it will become available.

But then again, if it's being used for email, then perhaps not!

.co.uk domains are so cheap most people would renew them automatically and not even think about it.
You could e-mail a random address like admin@ or webmaster@ and see if you can get through and ask if they want to sell it

It probably means that there's no web server running on the domain. A domain has plenty of other uses besides web traffic, however, so who knows what it's being used for, if anything.
