Kindle reg in someone else's name what do I do please

Hi everyone :D
A friend gave me a brand new kindle unopened ( yes a lucky girl as I love my books ) trouble is when I tried to reg it was in some else's name but then the phone rang and screen had a grey picture on when I got back, I have been in touch with my friend and he has no idea as it was new. Please does anyone know how I sort this out :beer: x x it's been one of those days today :(


Thank you it's all sorted the reg page came back up was able to delete that and reg mine it's all working now as I can see the books I had on my iPad x x

    assuming it is the touch, can you switch it on ( the button on the bottom).

    then tap the top right of the screen - three horizontal lines, to get the menu.

    tap settings
    tapRegistration and household
    tap Deregister this device
    tap Dereister

    hth

    Well it clearly wasn't brand new and unopened if it had already been registered by someone else, but if you're happy with it now I wouldn't worry about it.

    if you buy your kindle from amazon it may be registered to your account automatically.
    Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!:mad:

    if you buy your kindle from amazon it may be registered to your account automatically.

    I bought a Kindle for my wife using my Amazon account and it came registered in my name.

    Never been able to re-register it in her name.
    over 73 but not over the hill.
