I have just checked my latest BT Bill and see they are charging me £14.40 per month for my broadband - I renewed my contract in May 2015 at the rate of £13.00p per month .
When I phoned they said there is nothing they can do because of the price increase.
Is this correct?
Surely they should keep to the contract price for the 12 months?

They have it covered by their T&Cs. You should have received a price increase notification (probably by email) and you had 30 days from then to cancel the contract without penalty. If you don't then you're deemed to have accepted the revised terms.0

Why this board, not, say Consumer Rights or Broadband?
If the T&C don't say anything about their right to increase the price then they must allow you cancelling the contract without charges.

MSE say:BT is largely duty bound to allow existing customers to cancel their contract penalty-free because rules from regulator Ofcom state providers must allow this if they haven't informed customers of the price rise when they signed up.0 -
