Happy November and welcome to new joiners.

I'm not going to do a PP this month, just try and use up as many things as possible before I start my ahem 2 advent calendars in Dec.
I'm averaging over one UU a day so far this month! Let's see how long that lasts.

    UUs
Molton Brown white sandalwood body lotion I probably WNB for myself, but would ask for as a gift. I like it better than most of the MB fragrances.
Lancome Genefique serum 7ml WNB, I have used better, less expensive ones from other brands but if it came in a GWP set I'd be pleased. Now all out of day serum and won't be going out of my way to buy more.
Clarins multi-active day moisturiser this was a mini. This makes me a bit shiny, wouldn't be my first choice of day cream (I like a spf) but would use again. Still looking for that HG day cream.
Creightons Vanilla and Macadamia bath and shower creme WNBA, too sweet. I used the last of it as hand wash, which worked very well.
Lush Skydancer Bathbomb this was nice and it did sort of dance around the bath. I don't think they do this one anymore. The water went green, and it didn't have bits in it, which makes for less plughole fiddling afterwards.

Respect to the ladies cutting out cotton pads. I would like to do this but I am a bit addicted. What do you apply your toner with (if you use)? I avoid the toners with pump spray because I think it can't be recycled easily, do you use your muslin for it? Also, what do you take your toe nail polish off with?

Welcome to all the newbies and welcome back Sam!

I have my first UU of the month:

1/149. TBS Shea Butter Body Butter 200ml - WMBA on offer, pricey but I like the scent and it left my skin feeling very moisturised. A little goes a long way so not too bad in terms of VfM.

Hello I've been reading this thread for months and enjoying the fact there are other toiletry fanatics like me!
I have hundreds of stuff from sachets, minis, regular, supersize and probably have tried every brand over the years! I should ban myself from boots, qvc and any hot deal related offers but find it very hard. I have started trying to use up certain things in a month like you ladies do and getting the satisfaction when it's done - just like the large bottle of micellar cleansing water I finished tonight.
As its the start to a new month I thought I would write my application to join the no unnecessary toiletries club!

Welcome, you are definitely in the right place.

Glad to see it not just me with such a collection :). I have my eye on the kitchen in Friday enchanter bath bomb is in. Not trying to enable.

I am loving the Lush Milky Bath bubble bar at the mo. So many bubbles and leaves my skin really silky. I used to love Philosophy Fresh Cream shower gel and this is a really good contender for a similar product.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Last month was my 5th year anniversary in doing this challenge :eek::eek:

I never thought it would take me so long to shift my stash. My graduation goal was always under 200 items including all fragrance, nail polish, hair and body products and make up. In short everything! I have now hit 207 items left and I really hope to graduate this year.

So I need to get my body lotion on every day

I wonder how long I have been following this challenge too? I think you can easily beat your numbers!!

I don't know what's happened this year. Usually I am re-stashed at Christmas by Santa which keeps me going all year but this year I still have loads of shower gels left. I have been washing, honestly.

Did a tally of my 15ml tubes of Elemis PCMC and have a 5 month supply at least. Usually Santa buys me enough stock for the year but it could be expensive asking for 8 months' worth in one fail swoop. Am thinking of trying the Flora Mare face cream as it also has "ocean minerals" in it and is a fraction of the price of PCMC. Will see.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water 125ml - I got through this very quickly so WNBA for that reason. It does a great job of removing face makeup but is rubbish for eye makeup. I have 2 full sizes of this in the stash.

Agree, this is terrible re: eye make up remover.

I do have one small IN though from the Glamour mag:

Dramatically Different Moosturising Lotion + mini.

I've been looking for a copy with a free lipstick attached to no avail.

A sad moment.. UU L'occitane Vanilla Hand Cream! This is lovely but even for a mag freebie (£4), it is not great value for money. I can't bring myself to pay £8 to this to be honest. I do like some other TBS ones and they are the same price for bigger tubes..I do have many hand creams anyway.

I'm with you on this one. Much prefer to buy a full sized Lavender one.

I'm IN with a UU of OPI peppermint shimmer hand and body lotion. Off to the States next month so I must be good, really want some more B&BW even though I already have a big stash and people will probably buy more for Christmas.
I need deodrant and toothpaste but I think that's it.

Enjoy your hols. I am having serious B&BW and Starbucks withdrawal (was having a Starbucks every day!).

    Which calendars do you have?

I also have the Genefique also which I got as GWP at Sephora. Not sure how and when to apply. Maybe see if I need any more moisturisation once Winter kicks in properly and use it then.

OK now I've caught up with thread have an IN and a UU to report:-

Was mooching around Superdrug at lunch looking for the Glamour mag and saw that Co Lab dry shampoos are on offer at £1.00 off. Bought the London Extreme Volume one. I know I have a can of Batiste in Emma's room however never manage to get my hands on it. No doubt the Co Lab can will go the same way.

UU: L'Occitane Jasmine and Bergamot shower gel. This is gorgeous and I do want to replace it as I have the fragrance however am not going to until after Christmas. Have too many shower gels at the mo. Saying this though I'm intrigued as to how the new Jasmine Immortelle Neroli fragranced products smell.

I've recently bought the herbal essence dry shampoo and I find it's fab. Doesn't go all white when you spray it in your hair so no worry of leaving a white patch if you don't brush it all out successfully. I have been known to walk around with this for a few hours - everyone knowing that I hadn't washed my hair that day! :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Valm I've got you beauty discovery and look fantastic calendars. The former I know what is in it (not that thrilling this year - tweezers again!) and the latter I don't know but have been tempted by their beauty boxes all year. It has beautiful packaging. I like the idea of lots of different brands to try but there will always be some things I don't really like.
I looked at the L'Occitane one the other day, which I had thought was quite good value, but it was lots of small bars of soap, hand cream/footcream etc. And some days it was some table sprinkles or a paper tree decoration! Sorry if anyone has one and I've spoiled the surprise.

After taking my make up off, I will wash it with warm water and a little bit of soap. It doesn't stain. Then let it dry.
For nail polish, I do use a corrector pen to tidy up (Nails Inc.) and I usually will have the box removers in which you put your finger to take the polish off.

I will still have cotton pad at home for other things. Difficult to cut off completely but I only use it if necessary.

Muslin cloth can be bought in packs - got mine from Amazon and it was something like 3 pounds for a pack of 6. Ikea I believe has a better value one.

I have a spare one for toner by the way - it works for me. Hope this helps :)
    ally.
