Hi,
The headphones have gone on my iPhone that I bought from the Apple Store in Stratford (paid upfront with no contract). I went back to get a replacement and they said I would need to book an appointment and that the next one was a week away. After discussion I agreed to go online to do it, but after two weeks of trying they can't do it online due to an account discrepancy, so they have told me to go back to the store. However, they have no appointments available in the next week now.
I was just wondering, for a replacement under Sale of Goods, can they insist on an appointment, and if so how easy do they need to be to get?
thanks

Well they no doubt need to inspect them, so an appointment is perhaps needed.
A couple of weeks is reasonable, as headphones aren't exactly crucial to the functioning of the phone.
They will no doubt want to inspect them to check the headphones have not been damaged through mis-use, as they are classified as a consumable item.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Is it the headphones or the headphone socket that has failed? (Headphone sockets are usually universal so it should be easy to check using another pair).
I never liked Apple's in-ear headphones ... they never suited my ears. The circular/cylindrical ones that push further into the ear are much more comfortable for me.0 -
Make an appointment online even if its in week time.
Then regularly check, quiet often you will come across cancellations on earlier dates.
Then just reschedule.
That's what I did when I needed to replace my iPhone battery under their battery program.

I think part of his problem was that he couldn't do it online because of an account discrepancy.0
