Postage???

I have sold two items on Ebay and only just realised they have been sold to the same buyer. I sent two separate invoices and they have sent me payment for both together, including two lots of postage.

My question is should I send them in the same parcel or send two different parcels. Many thanks in advance for any help.

Why not get in touch with the buyer, asking them what they'd prefer for you to do? Maybe even offer a part refund on the difference in price? As a buyer, I would be peeved if i had paid two lots of postages, but got items delivered in the same package.

This is what I was thinking to do, but was wondering if both items would be secured by a Certificate of Posting at the Post Office.

Assuming that the total value of the parcel is below the £20 threshold for standard mail then it doesn't matter how many items are in it, a claim can still be made in case of loss assuming goods are eligible.

I recently sold three items to the same buyer.

I messaged telling them not to pay yet and I would work out a reduced postage but they paid anyway saying they had missed the message but was happy to pay the postage.

I put extra of the items I was selling to make up for it and they were very happy.

Once when buying the seller put a stamp in to cover the postage saving.

You can look at this two ways. One, the seller should have contacted you about combined postage before paying. It is their fault they have overpaid and they obviously are not bothered so pocket the difference. Two, it will make the buyer happy to get some money back if you send them together. Plus it is a waste of money to send separately and only fair you pass the savings on.

Personally I normally do option two. The buyer rarely acknowledges this in any way but its only the fair thing to do.

Yes it is below £20 but have messaged them with no reply yet, if not I will send together in one parcel and refund half the postage. Thanks for advice.
