Taxi rank with restricted parking during the day

Hi all,

I got a parking ticket last week whilst parked in a supposed taxi rank. The marked parking bays must have been recently converted to a taxi rank as there is no evidence of this on Google streetmaps . There was a thick yellow line, but when I arrived to park the only sign I could see was a parking sign that said parking for 1 hour between 8am - 6 pm no return within 1 hour. I did not see any other taxi rank sign when I parked up and it certainly wasn't on the same sign post as the sign mentioned above. It didn't help it was dark and raining and we made a dash from the car, however having seen this sign we we comfortable we had parked correctly (it was 7pm).

I am going to make a trip back there to check out the exact signage, but I would say it is very unclear. Are there any easy wins? Should the parking sign (during the day) and the taxi rank no parking sign be on the same sign post? I have seen this else where and it makes sense as there is no confusion

You need to take this query over to Pepipoo forums they are the experts on "real" parking tickets, this one specialises on fake private ones.

As long as you have shown pepipoo BOTH SIDES of the PCN you will get help. Don't just post there like you did above, they can't help without pics of the PCN and ideally, a streetview link.

Phone your local Council taxi licencing office to ask them to confirm whether it's a rank or not.
