When should I book a late deal?

Hi, I have been holding off booking a holiday this year because I've just finished studying and I'm skint. However, I have been offered a job  and have decided I can afford a quick holiday before I start. I'm normally not too bad at searching for late deals, but I've not been very impressed with what's coming up on www.teletext.co.uk (they seem to have changed it). I want to go for a week somewhere sunny on 1st sept +/- 1day. Am I looking too early, should I wait out until next week, or are there no cheap hols going because of our terrible summer?

there really isnt much about this year for 1 the horrible weather and tour ops have cut capacity this year.
try search via http://tawl.holiday.co.uk/(n1kjyk45g2vaee55irvbuv45)/hp/default.aspx?WebsiteGUID=cd695736-475d-4779-8f54-2ea6d62a6cd4&QID=62389&V=2.0.0.4 this will give you a general search but then go to the companies own web site because its often cheaper. If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -

Didn't really want to pay much more than £250pp for a week (named), I know that's not a lot, but I've always found something before.0 -

Thanks Sloppychops, I didn't think of booking separate flights and hotel as I assume booking late flights would be too expensive - some great ideas!0
