Accused of leaving scene of a accident

I am asking some for advise for a friend, she has had a letter from the police accusing her of leaving the scene of a accident. She is the only driver of the car in question. She has looked closely at her car and their are no new sctratches or bumps.
she says she has been involved in no accidents at all, or bumped any cars. She has been invited to the police station for a interview on a informal basis, but they refuse to give her any details at all, the date or what she has been accused of. She is very nervous of just going to the police station with no details as it will be hard to answer the questions correctly without researching her movements to remember where she was.
She pressed the police officer who telephoned her for some details, but they refused to give any details, just saying she must come to the police station for a friendly chat, and they will tell her then, but give no details before. So she has arranged to go to the station next week.
Is their anything other than going to the station next week that she should do? seeing as they refuse to tell her what she is accused of.

PePiPoo is the place to go. Oh, and tell you friend to post there - Chinese Whispers can lead to an awful lot of confusion and frustration for both those asking for and providing the advice. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

Tell your friend that she does not need to go for any chats, friendly or otherwise and to get on with her life..err unless they alleging some kind of personal injury?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
