iTunes video playback issue

Hello, I just purchased a TV Series via itunes in HD.
I've played the first episode and noticed that the video playback is very 'laggy' in parts. Particularly when there's a lot going on.
As in, one scene where the two characters were standing still, just speaking, candles in background were smooth, as soon as one of them began to move the scene became slightly laggy. Almost stop motion, but not quite as bad.
However in a scene with a sword fight it was REALLY noticeable, was like watching in slow motion.
It's keeping up with the audio but seems to be skipping the odd frame.
Still enjoyed watching it, but it's a bit disappointing when you've shelled out and you're not getting the proper experience.
I've got latest version of itunes and drivers. No dodgy codecs or anything as recently did a clean install. Running windows 10. Got a quad core i7, gtx 560m graphics card and 8gb ram.
Really shouldn't be struggling so I'm assuming it's an itunes software rather than a hardware issue as games etc running fine.
Any ideas? Spent ages looking on apple forums, lots of the links to troubleshooting seem to be a couple years old, and down.
