Hi i just wondered if anyone can help me as im new to this site, my car was parked in the above 'free' car park yesterday and the driver totally lost track of time, when they realised what they had done they had been parked for 3 hours i just wondered if when this happens does a charge notice come automatically for everyone or is it more at random? Also is it advisable to pay the cheaper charge when it comes or is it worth appealing with them and trying to pay a standard 3 hour parking charge to them instead? Thanks in advance

wait for any pcn to arrive and in the meantime read the NEWBIES sticky thread near the top of the forum

the best course of action is

    1) to complain to the landowner and insist on a cancellation , this is by far the best method of dealing with a pcn

    2) to appeal it in the manner detailed in the NEWBIES sticky thread, then appeal to popla if the PPC is a BPA member

    3) not to pay as it encourages them to prey on other "victims"

the onsite signage tells you if cameras or wardens are on site and what rules apply, plus what charges are made if the rules are broken, so check the signage is the simple answer, plus maybe speak to the manager and lodge your concerns

If you get a PCN you have already given away a possible winning appeal point if your user name is the same as your real name. Parking companies read these forums.

Edit your post to say, "the driver parked ..." "the driver realised ..."

Read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES so you know what to do if a PCN arrives on your door mat.

Do not pay, do not ignore, do not reveal who was driving, do not miss appeal deadlines, never ever 'phone a parking scumpany.

Yawn...sorry but it's at the top of the very forum you are posting on - how do people miss reading some info threads first? How do so many newbies manage to POST FIRST then read later?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
