  • I was made aware the the new times are 8am-8pm after my interview. I'm not sure what benefit I'd be working on not sure if amy240277 does either. I am aware that there are merit lists which has made me nervous a bit if I have to wait bit i was advised we would have decision by end of October and a start date they were looking at 16th Nov so far everything has been correct got the provisional offer on the 30/10 they sent the medical declaration on the 31/10. So just waiting now which is the worst!! Lol
  • See I was never told of the times but I was asked on a form what hours I would be willing to work between 8am - 5pm.

I think the benefit mentioned was PIP.
  • Either way I just wish they would give me a start date! Lol I've been out of work 16 months now lol I've worked since I was 16 I'm 34 now this is longest I've been without work. it's been torture! But on the positive side it was to spend time with my son. Good luck amy240277 I hope things go well for you. Definitely keep us updated.

Amy240277, I would advise you to look closely at the contract if/when you receive it. What's said at interview doesn't always match what is in that important piece of paper.
Good luck to both of you. I genuinely hope you enjoy the work.
Not suggesting that either of you has anything to worry about, but they often recruit, and even let people start, before all the security checks have been done. I have known people be removed pretty swiftly once the results of the checks have come through! I suspect their logic in working that way is that by the time the checks are done many people had attended other interviews and started new jobs. When I started it was over 3 months from interview to start date.

Are you sure it's not an admin officer rather than an admin assistant? I work for the DWP and they just got rid of all the AA roles and promoted them to AO or offered vol redundancy

Would you really be surprised if they were recruiting a new lot of AAs after getting rid of them all? I wouldn't.
  • No its definitely for an AO position. Both AO and EO positions where advertised.
