DWP job interview

Hi,

I had a job interview last Thursday at the DWP for a admin assistant but still not heard anything as of yet?

Do they take a while for them to get in touch with you?

Thanks

I had an interview with them a few years ago for a similar position which I didn't get. It took about 2 weeks to receive notification by letter, which also listed 3 phone numbers if I wanted feedback. None of the numbers were answered when I called them, which was more than once each.

Amy, you keep starting threads and not responding to them. Perhaps you could do so, to help people with similar queries in future and out of politeness to those that have helped you?

The DWP will be interviewing a high number of applicants and can take several weeks to respond. They'll normally do this via the CS Jobs portal.

It can take many weeks as they generally do security checks on any potential employee before making a job offer.
  • So I just received an email saying I have a provisional job offer.

Though the problem is I need a reference that covers the last three years the problem is I haven't worked in three years so not sure who can give me a reference. I have my old boss but I can't think of anyone else.

Now I'm not sure what the best thing to do is?

Have you been claiming JSA or any other benefit over the past 3 years. If so, you simply need to say that you haven't been working and provide details of your most recent employment. You could also include a personal reference.
  • I have managed to get a personal reference from somebody who I have known for over 20 years and then my old boss.

    Hopefully that will do.
  • Hi,

I received a provisonal offer on the 30th Oct 2015 too. Congratulations which office will be working at if everything goes well? Also did you receive the health declaration on the 31st??

'Provisional offer' generally means that you have passed their tests and are now on a waiting list for a vacancy. With the current recruitment program that will probably mean a fairly quick start date, but in the past is has meant you may be offered a job in the next 12 months.
Do you know which benefit you will be working on? Are you aware that the new contracts cover 8am to 8pm weekdays and Saturday working?
