Right to buy - Housing Association shared ownership

Hi all,

My partner has owned her 1 bed flat in London for 10 years. The 50% rent side is paid to the housing association and the 50% mortgage side has been paid off.

I cannot get any information anywhere, in regards to if the forthcoming government legislation next year in regards to extending the right to buy to housing associations would affect her. At the moment she has the right to aquire, but I can find no clue if the legislation will apply to shared ownership?

Ideally out daughter is in a good primary school, so living there for another 5 years (although impractical) would be doable.

For us to finally be able to afford a house (out of London) buying the other 50% at a discount would hopefully provide that option to us after the 5 years has elapsed.

I know this forthcoming legislation will anger some and we consider ourselves to be in a lucky position in this current climate. I used to own a 3 bedroom house myself in a previous relationship and sold before 2008 bust (I certainly wouldn't be able to buy that house again now as its since risen 200k) but we are still priced out of greater London now.

We are nearing late 30s, I can only feel sorry for the generations below us.
