York?
It has loads to do for all ages ...0 -
We love York, but go there quite often. It's that sort of city we'd like though.0

Gosh, lots of those are new since I lived there.
OP, how about Oxford? Masses to do and all within walking distance.

Leicester? There's loads to do for all tastes: History with Richard III stuff, lots of Roman & other history, lots of cultural stuff with the Golden Mile etc, National Space centre, Twycross Zoo all nearby?
Oxford has lots to do
Birmingham has much more than you would think - history, art, great shopping/places to eat etc
I like Nottingham but i don't think there's a huge amount to do in the city itself0 -
I didn't know there was much to do in Leicester. Will have a look into that one. Coincidentally I am meeting up with a friend tomorrow who is from there so will pick her brains.0

Oh and I would go for Brum, but I mum and I went recently on a hen do so fancy somewhere new. And my strange twin doesn't like chocolate so wouldn't do Cadbury!0

How about centre Parcs. Twelve of us went aged between 10 and fifty. Got bikes out, walked, badminton, driving range. Played games on a night. Went for a meal. Had a buffet in apartment for birthday lady. Quiz night in onsite pub, snooker tournament. Great fun for all. Cost divided up per person and didn't really cost a great deal...0

I did think center parcs, as I've been on hen dos there and really enjoyed it, but I'm not sure that it would be my parent's thing. Maybe for our 40th when we maybe have small children!!0
