Hey guys,
My laptop has developed a bit of a problem. The battery that controls the clock has died and the time keeping on the clock has gone. It is under warranty and las then 6 months old.
I phoned up HP Support and was transferred to an Indian Call Centre and basically got nowwhere for half an hour trying to explain the problem to them. Then they turned round and said I need the Laptop there so that they can diagnose the problem. I was at work and didnt have it with me. So I hung up. Called again later and was fine, I got through to the person and it was all ok and they didn't need the laptop there to diagnose it.
I was told that they could send the part to me if they had it in stock. They checked and they didnt so they want to take it in for repair and arranged to call me the next day. It has been a week and I have not had a call. But how would they repair it if they took it in for repair if they did not have the part. Sounds a bit weird to me.
Does anyone know a UK number for HP that I can call and talk to someone in the UK or any tips on dealing with HP. I would prefer they sent me the part so I can do it myself rather than them taking it away for weeks.
Thanks,
Andy

Can you not obtain a replacement battery from a 3rd party supplier and fit it yourself. This firm appears to stock RTC batteries,

It might be less painful than dealing with HP's call centreThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I had a look but couldnt see a replacement for my laptop.
My model is a DV6285eu, it would come under DV6000 but I cant see it.
I found a HP UK number which is based in London, I dont know if they are a support line or if its an old number.
Thanks,

Hi,
I have sent a couple of laptops back to HP in past. They use a 3rd party company that collect and repair them. When you logged the call you should have been given a call number, which should have also been to you via email.
They are normally quite good and arrange collection next day. With a 10 day turnaround.
Might be worth giving the Helpdesk another call and chase them.
