There was a man in the news, this week, who blamed the State for his having to use food banks. His reasoning was that, as they let him have his benefits all at once they had allowed him to lose it through gambling, leaving him with no money for food.

I have had to use my local foodbank a few times over the last couple of years. It was the only way to deal with the gap between losing my job and the benefits starting to come in.

Luckily, I have now managed to get a good ef saved, so can survive until the JSA starts flowing should the current job finish before I manage to get another set up.

And I bet it makes you feel great to listen to all the partial, unverified and mostly made up stories on here about people taking advantage of food banks.
