AVIVA the pits

The figure quoted was in fact life and pensions complaint over six months only
More than doubled the whole year so I suppose over 10,000 customers with cause for complaint is feasible for the millions of customers who transact with Aviva.
It's just smacks of couldn't care less when you read the grovelling apologies they send in return .Light travels faster than sound.

Dunstonh H is a persistent Aviva apologist. I really cannot understand way he damages his own reputation by continuing to support them blindly.
I have been in correspondence with them this time round over almost exactly the same period as the OP and with the same basic enquiry. But of course when you look under the murky outsides of any of their thousands of different pension products, you realise that none of their staff understand the products anymore, let alone how they should handle enquiries.
My latest escalation has taken me to the very top - Chief Operating Officer Kevin Moss apparently has taken a personal interest in my case ... wait for it ... a month ago!
I have gently chased twice since I was told that "Kevin" takes personal interest in matters addressed to him. I was told that he would liaise with the departments concerned and respond to me directly.
The latest chase yielded an apology and a less personal "your complaint is being fully reviewed" and that a full response would be issued once they were in a position to respond, which clearly they aren't on so many fronts!
That's nearly two weeks ago now.
Yep they are the pits, and Aviva Company Representative's flitting about in this forum like a busy little bee is just a very sad and rather laughable sham in any commercial sense.
What a flippin' mess that company is in.
The worst of it is that they are supposed to be husbanding a large part of all my diverse pension funds now (as a result of a mulitude of mergers and acquisitions). A safe place to put your pension ? Can't go wrong with a big name in the long run? Don't make me laugh and don't make that mistake. Unless you are almost retired, like me, you probably won't even know the name of the company who who owns it or who merged what with what inside 10 years, and neither will the future crop of call centre staff - same as they are all pretty ignorant right now of their own history.
Dunstonh will keep tabs for you though, and in 10 years he'll be its habitual apologist in whatever form it happens to be.
Also sad, but also perhaps true unless he is sat under a nice palm tree by then and has thrown away his keyboard!0 -

What a very silly thing to say. However, virtually everything you type has been very silly too. Facts don't matter to you in your virtual reality world.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Yes it is sometimes difficult to work out who is the silliest dunstonh.

My world is independent and unbiased. I also have a great more knowledge on these things than you. i see good, bad and ugly. I also understand the reasons why things happen as understanding these things prevents ignorance. Understanding and explaining does not make the person an apologist. Agarnet your posting has just puts things adrift now !!
On Sunday I contacted Mark Wilson CEO of Aviva.
Today a reply that he has passed this case to Kevin Moss chief operating officer for Aviva who
Will be investigating our concerns blah blah blah .
Last sentence in the hope we can restore your confidence in Aviva. Light travels faster than sound.

Dear maggy50,
I commiserate
You thought you might be getting somewhere and I may have dashed some hope because now you know that I have been given a similar golden coloured ticket to nowhere fast ?
Join The Club- I guess we'll have to wait and wait and wait and wait to see if our confidence in Aviva can ever be restored ... Don't hold your breath!

Agarnett you have brightened our day ..lol
Sad thing is that the FOS had a case regarding my OH pension with Aviva that was completed
January 2015 and the result sparked off my OH to want his pension pot paid to him.
Four applications later a thorough investigation by a Mathew Russell at the resolution centre .
The apology ( YET AGAIN ) £50 compensation and assurance the matter would be dealt with and any losses be paid due to the delay 10th October 2015 , 28th October a letter with someone else's document asking for missing information !!!!! .
So thus resulted in a e mail to CEO and so we go round the merry go round again !!
Shame on you Aviva ... It does beg to wonder why a so called large company can try to hang on to other gullible investors money when it's time to pay up !!Light travels faster than sound.

Hi maggy50
Sorry ... been terribly terribly and all that ... just like Kevin I guess ...
So ... er ... no, maggy50, ... absolutely nadda
In 5 days it'll be a whole month since they said they were grateful for my continued patience and were sorry that I had not yet received a reply to my concerns. My complaint was still being thoroughly reviewed and once they were in a position to fully answer all the points I raised, they would issue a response.
And that was two weeks after Kevin Moss, Chief Operating Officer, asked someone to acknowledge my complaint and to let me know he would liaise with their UK Life Operations Team regarding the points I made in relation to my policies.
So six weeks ago they were sorry that I'd had to raise the matter to Kevin. But Kevin takes a personal interest in matters addressed to him and he will respond to me directly as soon as possible. Will he? But when ?
Take your hands out of your pockets, wipe the silly grin off, Kevin, and look sharpish, P-lease!!
Ah ... but now we think of it, but that was a week before the poor darling may have caught a chill with his Aviva UK Life CEO mate David Barrall when they raised £5,000 from 125 of their mates ... blimey £40 each! Bet the York coffee shops suffered that week!
Oh yeah, they were at Wembley stadium sleeping out and their old IT department mucker or chief sucker up Rob Houghton coughed up a ton ... but then I expect his pension is well sorted specially since it's being topped up regularly directly from my pension funds! I see that not to be outdone by his boss, another IT wallah Robin Barker also coughed up a ton. Project Manager's salaries must be a bit more than when I was one. I do think he must have been sucking up Pretty Woman style though - you know not just profane, but really offensive! Oh and dear old Euon Munro from Aviva Investors stuck in a ton as well, and a prior admonishment - maybe he knows them too well - "no sneaking off to the Ritz!"
I mean seriously ... it's just a bloody gravy train at Aviva and they can't even organise a charity event without making it an exclusive 3 line whip at head office. I'm not kidding - I'm fairly sure I recognise a whole bunch of names appearing over recent years and months on my complaint files who shelled out on justgiving.com so the boss could look like he'd done a good job - sort of ... :rotfl:
So is he back yet or did he have to go warm up in the Caymans or somewhere first after his night on the tiles ... ?
Business as usual now?
Coowee ... Kevin dear, Cooweeeeeeeeee!? Shop!? ...
Anyone there ? Oh its probably Christmas party time now ... silly me ...
Can we agree January 2016, anyone ? Mine's not pressing of course ... another year after that afore I'm good for a bus pass, and what's £150K between Aviva and Friends? I am sure they have it really safe and mapped out for me, eh?0
