Insurance works Left me without sink or washing machine

I recently made a claim for a leak caused by my washing machine. Floorboards were replaced, sink was removed and the plaster on about 1.5 metres by 1 metre of wall was removed down to the brick. Dehumidifier is now in place and has been running for a week. That whole time I've had no sink. I thought I could use the washing machine but the drainage pipe was left unsupported so I nearly had another incident when the washing machine went onto spin, dislodged the waste pipe and sent water everywhere. So I now can't use the washing machine either. The bathroom is in the next room so we do have access to a sink there. But should I be complaining about it? Can they do anything else for me? i Have 2 children under 5. Should I complain about the washing machine? I've now got another week at least of the same ahead of me at least as they reckon the wall is still damp.

I don't understand why you think you have no sink, your post clearly confirms you do. It may not be your normal sink, but you have a sink you can use.

As for washing machine, well you can ask your insurer to cover the cost of a service wash at your nearest launderette.

But remember all these extras are added onto the cost of the claim that you will need to disclose for the next 5 years.

Why don't you speak with your insurance company to explain and ask for advice?
