Chimney !

Having a wood burner installed in our house and we had to have chimney swept. Previously we had a gas fire installed about 15 years ago and the gas fitter arranged a chimney sweep then but now I'm not so sure he did!

When they looked up the chimney they could see it was blocked. Aside from compacted birds nests, dead birds here were a few bricks!

No one sure how the bricks got there.

Do you mind me asking what stove you went for and what was the price including fitting?

Aga Little Wenlock. We have had old fireplace taken out (original from 1950s), the fireplace opened up, chimney breast replastered, new slate hearth and have opted for the flue with a 25 year guarantee. Cost is around £2k for all the whole job. We are on day 4 and it should be finished today.

Three friends recommended the stove to us. We also have our own supply of wood as we back on to the woods and OH has been drying out wood for past year so hopefully we won't need to buy much.
