Every so often when I start my PC (win7 os) I get the cmd box popping up for a split second several times then it stops
I think its the command prompt box looks like the same box I get when I type CMD in the run/ search box
I have ran scans Norton, malwarebytes and msert all have come back clean
Why has this started to happen?
It is too fast to read it
Thanks

msconfig
Check to see what's enabled for Startup with Windows.0 -
Thanks
That would be done using msconfig
Wouldn't it?Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -
Yes. Start | type in msconfig and press Enter
Select the Startup tab and work your way through the items listed, Untick anything you want to disable from starting with Windows.

Thank you for that
I was going to do a clean install but thought I would ask first.

There are a number of places this could be hiding.......
In order of most likely.
Task scheduler (this is where annoying cr4p from Java and Adobe like to hide)
Startup folder (in start > all programs)
Registy - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Registy - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Registy - HKEY_USERS\xxxxxxxxxxxx\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
(there's another registry entry which contains "wow64", but I can never find this one)
services.msc
msconfig.exe
Forgive the spaces, I can't get rid of them for some reason.
Msconfig doesn't really solve the problem, it's more of a sticky plaster, you can untick items but can't actually remove them.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Might be worth running a sfc and MBAM scan.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

Although the prompt only appears for a short time can you hit the Print Screen key and try and get a screen shot?0
