"it isn't here today (Friday) but it WILL be in on Monday"
Again, meaning the store and not your home. The fact you got those texts makes it sound like the order was booked in, in error but unless you got a date from them on paper or text it will be very hard to hold them to fault.
From the conversations you say you've had it just seems like all you got where estimates. They may well have told you over the phone "It'll be in on Monday", they may even agree with you if you challenge them, however they will likely say "In to us, not to you" so again, they haven't given you a date.0 -
I don't see what the difference is whether they say delivered to them or to me (we were told face to face that when it gets to them in store, it is sent to the customer within 24 hours as they don't have storage). Also, it still couldn't have been expected in to store if they didn't have the fabric.0

But the point is...
As they never actually gave you a firm, guaranteed delivery date, they can hardly be pulled up for not adhering to it, can they?0 -
No, but don't tell me it may/will be in tomorrow if you haven't even got the fabric yet!!0

Difference is what they can be held accountable for they tell you that once it arrives in it has to be out in 24/48 hours so that people can make preparations in their home (actually it's because only goods that are delivered in 48 hours count towards the delivery bonus the warehouse and admin teams get, so trust me, they want to get it to you as much as you want it). They also say 24/48 hours as the vans can fill up pretty quickly, daily they send out 24 deliveries (unless it's a big store).
If I said to you, I have this product and I will give it to you in 24 to 48 hours, which day would you book off? You wouldn't know because I haven't told you a definite date / time length.0
