Grab rails in private rent

I would like to know if I can get some grab rails put up in the bathroom in our private rented home by the landlord, as I am disabled and find I get a lot of dizzy spells and struggle to get in and out of the bath

Have you asked your landlord? Give him a ring or ask next time he does a routine inspection.
Have you checked whether your local council would install? Some will do this free if you qualify - but you'd still need your LL's permission.0 -

ask the local council .They may remove the bath and put a shower in .Any work will need the landlords permission"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -

I think the point you are asking is can you FORCE the landlord to put them in, and the answer is no.
