Natwest Cheque Clearing - When are you able to withdraw funds.

Hello,
I have paid in a cheque on Friday before 3:30pm. I am wondering when the funds will be able to withdraw - I have seen the cheque clearing cycle on the website. My question: I am worried in case the cheque is returned unpaid on the third working day (Wednesday/tomorrow) and the funds can only be withdrawn on the forth working day (Thursday) however I am aware that the cheque will be sent out again - and I am wondering if this resets the cheque clearing cycle or is it included from the first date it was initially deposited i.e. the Friday when I lodged it.

Thank you in advance!

    246 rule,

    Day 2 for interest
Day 4 for withdrawal (can still bounce)
Day 6 for certainty of fate. (Funds can't be withdrawn if cheque bounces)

So a credit on Friday will be gaining interest from today day 2, withdraw against on Thursday day 4 and certainly of fate on Monday next week. day 6

if the cheque is represented then the clearance cycle starts again from the day you pay it in.
