In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Tell the buyer they need to contact you via the agent and that you can negotiate further fixtures and fittings once the solicitors are talking to each other and the ball is rolling.
Dont been intimidated into including things you'd rather not, however hard it may be, like culpepper said there are other buyers out there.0 -
Have you instructed solicitors yet?
If no, tell your agent to find other buyers as you don't feel these are genuine.
It may focus their minds. As you got a buyer quickly, it suggests your house is quite saleable, so stick to your price. Its spring and a good time to sell so another buyer is possible.
If you have instructed a solicitor then proceed only via your solicitor. He/she will ask you to fill in a form with many questions. Some will cover exactly what you are leaving and what you are not.
And remember until you've exchanged contracts you're committed to nothing.
You are perfectly entitled to keep your light fittings that were gifts. Do what you want and keep them. But make sure the replacement fittings are safe, legal and correctly wired.0 -
Have to agree with roger56, don't leave the kitchen or lounge light fittings !
Say you've talked to your husband and he's not happy to leave them, or something along those lines.
Be totally upfront with the buyers now, if you cannot be, then I suggest you replace them just before you complete.Z
