Shower suitable for Combi Boiler

If getting a wall mounted shower which would drain down into the bath, is there a certain category of shower I should look for if the water is heated by mains gas? It uses a combi boiler.
Or a certain category which is incompatible with mains gas supply?
For example, I've heard that a power shower is not possible with water heated by mains gas.
Can it be thermostatic or electric? Is it gravity-fed?

That was a representative from the gas company who informed me.
What do you mean by 'mains gas'? All gas boilers use mains gas.
Do you mean a combi boiler that heats the water as you use it?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I just meant mains gas, as opposed to oil.peachyprice wrote: »Do you mean a combi boiler that heats the water as you use it?0 -
It's the combi boiler that is a problem not the gas.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Okay.
With it being a combi boiler, what does this rule out (or what should I be looking for) in relation to wall mounted shower which drains into the bath?
So it would rule out a power shower. Anything else?0 -
You will need a thermostatic mixer valve shower suitable for use with a combi boiler.
http://www.screwfix.com/c/bathrooms-kitchens/thermostatic-mixer-showers/cat2610004Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
What matters is whether the shower requires a tank fed rather than mains fed supply. So a power shower (pumped shower) requires a supplytank fed, which you won't have with a combi.
You can alternatively have an electric shower, which is cold-fed off the rising main. The advantage of this is that your shower will still operate should the boiler fail.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I have a Mira excel mixer shower which works adequately with my combi boiler.
It still works even when my wife flushes the toilet or turns on a downstairs tap.
