Capital One "Acceptance"

in Credit cards
I'm going away on holiday on 11th November and, through circumstances a bit out of my control, I'm short of money. So today I applied for a Capital One credit card so that I can give myself a bit of a financial "cushion."
I applied this morning online and within 60 seconds had a "Good News" message on my screen. I was provided with a reference number and told that I'd receive a pin number first in "3 to 5 working days," then a card in "7 to 10 days."
Obviously I'm pushing it if I want to get the card and pin before I go away.
So I telephoned Capital One today and asked if they could somehow expedite the card. The person I spoke to wasn't a great deal of help unfortunately, and actually served to confuse me further. She said that my application was currently awaiting some kind of approval related to fraud (I've never been anywhere near anything like this in my life, so I assume that they do it for everyone?) She then said I'll receive confirmation that my application was successful in the post and then the card/pin.
All sounds very confusing and conflicting.
The Capital One website says something different again, that on successful application I should receive my card within 7 to 10 days, and I should have the pin number before it.
Can anyone please provide me with a bit of clarity on this? I'm desperately hoping I can get the card before 11th November but with so much conflicting info I'm not even sure I've been approved.
Thanks

The initial check has approved you however they still do further checks for fraud etc so you may still be declined.
I think it's case of just wait it out until you receive a card or a rejection letter. All that glitters is not gold.0
