I think you are confusing a warranty claim with a SOGA claim....the OP does not have to produce a report after 6m to get a repair, replacement or refund under the manufacturer's warranty. It's an ASDA branded TV, so there is no separate manufacturer to make the warranty claim off.
The store managers would have discretion over the stand, and the OP was just unfortunate to run into a jobsworth, which is why I suggested trying another store.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I'm not confusing anything, a warranty claim is followed using the T&C's in the warranty, if that means no claim without all the parts then so be it.

SOGA after 6 months then you know the procedure the OP needs to follow. I have no doubt the courts would disregard the missing stand with the proper report but at this stage it's down to how far the OP wants to take it.

Asda being the manufacturer (although Polaroid are probably a sister company rather than directly owned by Asda) makes no difference.

    Hi, quick update.

Took the TV to a different store this morning. Explained about missing stand, not stocking the same model etc.

Lady on Customer Service said no problem we could just swap out the stand from a different one and pay any price difference if there was one.

Not the best of TVs but it is only for occasional use in the kitchen.
